Panchakarma therapies

Physician-supervised bio-cleansing protocols designed to eliminate deep-seated metabolic toxins and reset vitality.

Clinical approach

Care begins with an unhurried dialogue.

The authentic science of purification

Panchakarma is not a casual spa treatment—it is a deeply restorative, classical clinical therapy. The word literally translates to "five actions" (Pancha = five, Karma = action), representing the five primary procedures used to eliminate metabolic toxins (Ama) from the deep tissues of the body.

Modern life, with its dietary inconsistencies, chronic stress, and environmental pollution, continuously challenges our body's natural detoxifying pathways. Over time, these impurities accumulate, dampening our digestive fire (Agni) and settling into the joints, skin, and organs. Panchakarma is the definitive Ayurvedic method for reversing this accumulation.

Panchakarma Shirodhara Therapy

Phase 1: Poorvakarma (Preparation)

No deep cleansing can safely occur without careful preparation. This phase involves Snehana (internal and external oleation) and Swedana (therapeutic sweating). By saturating the body with medicated ghee and warm herbal oils, we soften the hardened toxins. Subsequent steam therapy dilates the channels, allowing these mobilized toxins to move toward the digestive tract for elimination.

Phase 2: Pradhana Karma (Elimination)

Once the body is prepared, Dr. Pooja Sharma prescribes the specific elimination therapies suited to your condition and doshic imbalance. These may include:

  • Vamana (Emesis): Gentle, medicated vomiting to clear excess Kapha from the chest and stomach.
  • Virechana (Purgation): Medicated bowel clearing to eliminate excess Pitta from the liver and gallbladder.
  • Basti (Enema): The introduction of herbal decoctions and oils into the colon to pacify Vata disorders and deeply nourish the nervous system.
  • Nasya (Nasal administration): Drops of medicated oil instilled through the nasal passages to clear the head and neck region.
  • Raktamokshana: Gentle purification of the blood, often utilizing medicinal leeches for skin and joint disorders.

Phase 3: Paschatkarma (Rejuvenation)

The final and equally important stage is rehabilitation. Following elimination, your digestive fire and tissues are delicate. We guide you through a strict dietary protocol (Samsarjana Krama), starting with light, warm, and easily digestible foods, slowly building back your strength. We also integrate Rasayana (rejuvenating) herbs to fortify your cellular immunity and ensure lasting vitality.

Is this therapy right for your condition?

Therapy in classical Ayurveda is never one-size-fits-all. Dr. Pooja Sharma examines your metabolic fire (Agni), tissue strength, current doshic aggravation, and medical history before determining whether this protocol is indicated for you.
